About Jessica Improta, lcsw

You don’t have to carry this all on your own.

I’m a California-based therapist who works primarily with women (but also a few men) navigating trauma, grief, and the emotional weight that builds up when you’re constantly holding it together. My style is collaborative, thoughtful, and grounded in real care. I’m not here to fix you—but I am here to help you explore what’s been hard, what keeps getting in the way, and what healing might look like for you.

I draw from both talk therapy and EMDR, depending on your needs. Some sessions are deep and structured; others are more about slowing down, checking in, and making space. It’s not about being perfect—it’s about being honest, supported, and not doing it alone.

please Hear me when I say:

Being here doesn’t mean you’re weak. It means you’re strong.

I want you to know that needing support isn’t a flaw—it’s a sign you’re ready to live more honestly, more fully, and with less heaviness. You don’t have to figure it all out alone. Therapy can be the place where things start to shift—for real.

How I work

At the core of my approach to therapy is a belief that real healing happens when you feel safe, seen, and truly understood.

I’m collaborative and down-to-earth—caring when you need comfort, direct when you need a push. My goal is for you to feel supported enough to go deep, but never pressured to go faster than you're ready for.

I blend talk therapy with EMDR, depending on what you're working through. Sometimes we lean strategic and verbal, other times we follow the body's lead. Either way, the work is grounded, personalized, and real.

Outside of therapy, I’m also a competitive pickleball pro player and coach. So if you’re into metaphors about strategy, grit, or knowing when to smash vs. reset… I’ve got those too.)
